The brief from our Client was to improve
work practices, communication and the work environment for staff and visitors. The Client was keen to implement a cultural workplace change to attract a younger staff base.
The process involved design briefing and workplace study, identifying strengths and weaknesses in established work practices, developing an open plan work environment encompassing both team and individual workstyles.
The result was a library style carrel concept allowing a successful change from staff working in an enclosed office space to an open plan environment. The large shared informal breakout space and open medical library improved departmental interaction.
