Alterations & additions to existing terrace house
The existing terrace was a typical two up two down with rear lean to the rear garden. The Client brief called a family friendly residence with private sleeping areas separated from the living spaces. This included a bathroom upstairs with three bedrooms including an attic conversion. The rear courtyard was also to double as a temporary parking and entertaining space.
The lightwell separating the old from the new provided daylight and ventilation to the internal bathroom at level 1 and down into the dining and kitchen areas at ground floor through a full width skylight in the roof and a double height louvre window assembly in the northern elevation.
